If Someone Doesn’t Accept Your Gift, To Whom Does The Gift Belong?

If someone compliments you, that doesn’t make you a better person, it makes them a better person because they're taking the time to be supportive and encouraging. Your value remains unchanged, because it's something that comes from within.   If someone criticizes you, it doesn't make you down until your emotions get touched by those words or action. If it's affecting go deep and observe to Whom it hurts and Why? When you go deeply you will know EGO which got hurt will get separation from your true identity which is really unaffected.   You will able to see the who gets hurt and who is really untouched. And the one who gets hurt will not dominate the true self. And this will become a meditation which will make you realize that how you are separate from the false identity which you carry and react at once.   If someone gives you something and you don't accept it then how it can come to you. Nothing Exists

Yamaoka Tesshu, as a young student of Zen, visited one master after another. He called upon Dokuon of Shikoku. Desiring to show his attainment, he said: “The mind, Buddha, and sentient beings, after all, do not exist. The true nature of phenomena is emptiness. There is no realization, no delusion, no sage, no mediocrity. There is no giving and nothing to be received.” Dokuon, who was smoking quietly, said nothing. Suddenly he whacked Yamaoka with his bamboo pipe. This made the youth quite angry. “If nothing exists,” inquired Dokuon, “where did this anger come from?”
